Who we are

YourPDF Checker is operated by Cardan International B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands. This privacy statement explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you use our website and platform.

Data we collect

Account data

— name, email address and organisation name, collected when you register.

Uploaded documents

— PDF files you upload for checking. Documents are processed to generate accessibility reports. How long they are kept is a setting your organisation controls, from deletion immediately after processing up to a maximum of 365 days; the default is 24 hours.

Usage data

— anonymous analytics about how the platform is used, to help us improve the service.

Payment data

— billing information processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store full card details.

How we use your data

We use your data to provide and improve the YourPDF Checker service, to send transactional emails (account confirmation, invoices), and to comply with legal obligations. We never sell your data to third parties.

Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active and for 12 months after account closure. Documents are retained for as long as the administrator of your organisation has set: from deletion immediately after processing up to a maximum of 365 days, with a default of 24 hours. On the Free plan, documents are never stored: they are removed shortly after processing, within two hours at the latest. Choosing a retention period is part of the paid plans.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of service providers to deliver the platform. They process personal data only on our instructions and under a data processing agreement.

Hetzner Online GmbH

(Germany) — hosting and infrastructure.

Cloudflare

— content delivery, DNS and protection against attacks. TLS connections may be terminated outside the EU.

Stripe

— payment processing and invoicing.

OpenAI

— AI-assisted accessibility checks, only where your organisation has allowed AI analysis. The document is then sent to OpenAI in whole or in part. OpenAI processes the data on our instructions and does not use it to train its models.

AI-assisted checks are the only part of the analysis that involves a third party, and they run only where your organisation has allowed them.

Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, and export your personal data. You may exercise these rights by contacting privacy@yourpdfchecker.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Cookies

We use functional cookies for session management and preference storage. We use anonymous analytics to understand overall usage patterns. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
